Step into the world of feather artistry with Madrid-based artist Henar Iglesias at Double J Collective Gallery, in collaboration with Artiste Culture. Influenced by her upbringing in her mother’s millinery studio and her father’s paintings, Iglesias merges traditional techniques with a contemporary aesthetic shaped by her background in mathematics. Her work explores the relationship between nature, luxury, and modern society through a rich cultural lens.

Adéntrese en el mundo del arte de la pluma con la artista madrileña Henar Iglesias en la galería Double J Collective, en colaboración con Artiste Culture. Influenciada por su educación en el taller de sombrerería de su madre y las pinturas de su padre, Iglesias fusiona las técnicas tradicionales con una estética contemporánea formada por su formación en matemáticas. Su obra explora la relación entre la naturaleza, el lujo y la sociedad moderna a través de un rico prisma cultural.

An exhibition witll take place near Prado Museum. Its is curated by Marta Valea and I will exhibit a new piece, a folding screen and two others in collaboration with Toni Porto. The exhibition offers a careful selection of contemporary art and design pieces, which are part of the new collection of artists and designers of Caotics. HOME, Casa, HOME” presents an environment where each piece of art, furniture and sculpture dialogue with each other, showing how art can be integrated naturally and aesthetically into everyday life.

Esta exposicón tendrá lugar cerca del Museo del Prado y será comisariada por Marta Valea. En ella expondré una pieza nueva, un biombo y otras dos en colaboración con Toni Porto. La exposición ofrece una cuidada selección de piezas de arte y diseño contemporáneo, que forman parte de la nueva colección de artistas y diseñadores de Caotics. HOME, Casa, HOME” presenta un entorno donde cada obra, mueble y escultura dialogan entre sí, mostrando cómo el arte puede integrarse de forma natural y estética en el día a día.

I am very happy to announce that the two pieces I sent to the exhibition at Rosewood Hotel de Crillon, Paris. have been sold. Thank you Eric Hennebert for organizing and curating the exhibition. The two pieces are San Giorgio Maggiore 2019 (partridge and pheasant feathers) and Passion I 2024 (pheasant feathers and felt).

Me hace muy feliz contaros que han sido vendidas las dos piezas que envié a la exposición de Rosewood Hotel de Crillon, Paris. Gracias Eric Hennebert por la organización y comisariado. Las dos piezas son San Giorgio Maggiore 2019 (plumas de perdiz y faisán) y Passion I 2024 (plumas de faisán y fieltro).

Now you have the opportunity to enjoy in Madrid ‘Feather Nest I’, made in collaboration with sculptor Toni Porto and selected in the International competition of South Korea Cheongju Craft Biennale and ‘Hekiptera‘ a silk and feather piece made in collaboration with textile artisan Kima Guitart. They will be on display from this Friday, February 9 until March 3 at the Palacio de Santa Bárbara. Mazda and SACo, the Society of Contemporary Crafts, join forces for the fifth time to present the exhibition COLLABORATIO, framed within the Madrid Design Festival 2024. A bet that highlights the value of collaboration between artisans, designers and design editors. With the presence of master craftsmen, Takumis, who establish a dialogue between Spain and Japan.

Ahora tenéis la oportunidad de disfrutar en Madrid de Feather Nest I, realizada en colaboración con @porto_escultor y seleccionada en el concurso Internacional de Corea del Sur Cheongju Craft Biennale y de ‘Hekiptera’ una pieza de seda y pluma hecha en colaboración con la artesana textil Kima Guitart. Estarán expuestas desde este viernes 9 de Febrero hasta el 3 de Marzo en el Palacio de Santa Bárbara. Mazda y SACo, la Sociedad de Artesanía Contemporánea, se unen por quinta vez para presentar la exposición COLLABORATIO, enmarcada dentro del Madrid Design Festival 2024. Una apuesta que pone en valor la colaboración entre artesanos, diseñadores y editores de diseño. Con la presencia de maestros artesanos, Takumis, que establecen un diálogo entre España y Japón.

In its seventh itinerancy, READ presents From Spain With Design in collaboration with DIMAD and within the program of the Madrid Design Festival 24. I return to collaborate with the sculptor Toni Porto with a new piece within the Feather Nest series. The exhibition will be held at the Central de Diseño de Matadero Madrid and will be open to the public from February 1 to March 17, 2024.

En su séptima itinerancia, READ presenta From Spain With Design en colaboración con DIMADy dentro del programa del Madrid Design Festival 24. Vuelvo a colaborar con el escultor Toni Porto con una pieza nueva dentro de la serie Feather Nest. La exposición se celebrará en la Central de Diseño de Matadero Madrid y abrirá sus puertas al público desde el 1 de febrero hasta el 17 de marzo de 2024.

HOMO FABER BIENALE

Esta pieza ha sido seleccionada para ir a la bienal de artesanía contemporánea que organiza la Fundación Homo Faber este mes de abril en Venecia. Es la búsqueda más novedosa en técnica de mosaico de plumas que realizo. Es una interpretación libre del patrón del suelo de la Basílica veneciana de San Giorgio Maggiore. Ha sido comisariado por Sebastian Heckner

This piece has been selected at the biennial of contemporary crafts organized by the Homo Faber Foundation this April in Venice. It is the most novel search in the feather mosaic technique that I do. It is a free interpretation of the floor pattern of the Venetian basilica of San Giorgio Maggiore. It has been curated by Sebastian Heckner.

A week for design in Paris, celebrated with Maison & Objet Fair, opens its doors now in September. I have the great honor of having been selected to participate with my piece Confidence, a mosaic made with partridge feather and golden pheasant.

La semana del Diseño en Paris, celebrada con la feria Maison & Objet, abre sus puertas en Septiembre. Tengo el gran honor de haber sido seleccionada para participar con mi pieza Confidence un mosaico hecho con pluma de perdiz y faisán dorado.

COMUNIDAD CIRCULAR

Exhibition organized by Mazda Spain and SACo en Madrid Design Festival 2021 ‘Circular Community’ vindicates contemporary craftsmanship as a value for the future and artisanal work applied to sustainable production routes. In this case, the piece I am exhibiting is Bestiary II, a sculpture made with a dog skull and lined with mallard, golden pheasant and robin feathers.

Exposición organizada por Mazda España y SACo at Madrid Design Festival 2021 ‘Comunidad Circular’ reivindica la artesanía contemporánea como valor a futuro y el trabajo artesanal aplicado a las vías de producción sostenible. En este caso la pieza que expongo es Bestiary II, una escultura hecha con cráneo de perro y forrado con plumas de ánade real, faisán dorado y petirrojo.

LOEWE CRAFT PRIZE

Tokio 2019

The pieces of 30 selected finalists from more than 2,500 people from more than 100 countries will be displayed in the covered stone garden of Isamu Noguchi, ‘Heaven’, at the Sogetsu Kaikan in Tokyo, from June 26 to July 22. Among them will be CONFÜBIUS, a pre-Columbian technique for making mosaic of Asian partridge feathers fixed to paper with wax.

Las piezas de 30 finalistas seleccionados entre más de 2.500 personas procedentes de más de 100 países se exhibirá en el jardín de piedra cubierto de Isamu Noguchi, ‘Heaven’, en el Sogetsu Kaikan en Tokio, del 26 de junio al 22 de julio. Entre ellos estará CONFÜBIUS, técnica precolombina de realización de mosaico de plumas de perdiz asiática fijadas al papel con cera.

I am fortunate to have been selected to represent Spain in the biennial of crafts and creation REVELATIONS. I will be exhibiting at the Grand Palais in Paris from 22nd to 26th May 2019 with the BESTIARIO collection.
